“It was art.” Judge Rules. Landlord Must Pay $6.5 Million for Destruction

United States District Court Judge Frederic Block has awarded New York graffiti artists 6.5 million dollars in their lawsuit against a landlord, who first whitewashed, and then razed a warehouse that was the site of many spray paintings, to make way for luxury housing.
