On July 22nd the Library conducted another in a series of training programs for the staff of the Office of the Massachusetts Attorney General. Such trainings are frequent for state public officials. Some sessions provide an overview of the online and paper-based materials that are specific to an agency’s subject area, while other trainings survey the breadth and depth of the Library’s collection. There are also “how to” training sessions on particular databases, many of which are accessible to agencies at their offices. The object of the trainings is to familiarize public officials with the broad scope of resources and services available to the three branches of state government, and how the Library staff can find the most current and comprehensive materials that are “on point” to answer the legal-research needs of state agencies. Trainings are tailored to each agency’s needs. Nine staffers attended this popular training session. Call Michael Saporito at (617) 226-1343 in the
Membership Department to arrange a session. The Library also regularly conducts sessions for lawyers and law firms of all sizes at the Library or at the firms’ offices.
