Presided over by a seasoned Superior Court judge skilled in judicial review of agency adjudicatory decisions, this program also features an expert panel of lawyers with years of experience representing state and local governments and diverse private parties in such proceedings. Topics to be covered include:

• Nuts and Bolts survey of the applicable law, procedural considerations and scope of review. While this program will principally focus on review of adjudicatory proceedings before the Superior Court (under the State Administrative Procedure Act, Chapter 30A, and the Certiorari Statute, Chapter 249, Sec. 4), the presenters will also provide useful practice notes on select statutes and types of cases that proceed directly to the Massachusetts Appeals Court and the Supreme Judicial Court.

• Practice Pointers from the bench as well from the varying perspectives of those who represent state and local governments and private parties. To provide context, a range of hypotheticals will be presented focusing on the types of cases commonly handled by governmental entities and private litigants.

• Hot Topics and emerging issues will also be presented and discussed from the diverse perspectives of the panel and the varying interests of the parties that they represent.
