Technology Services Acceptable Use Policies

The Social Law Library has established the following policies pertaining to the use of its technology services offerings. Subscription to any such service constitutes an agreement by the subscriber to adhere to the terms and conditions set forth in the policies posted below.

Firewall Policy

The Social Law Library maintains its own hardware firewalls independently of any other entity occupying the premises of the John Adams Courthouse. When in the best interests of the Library to protect the Library and its members from malicious Internet traffic, the Library’s Technology Services Department has, in its sole discretion, the authority to block any and all Internet traffic coming and going from the Library network, including domestic and international networks, Internet protocols, and applications at any time and for any duration without notice. Click the link below to see a current list of blocked international countries:

Email Mailbox Size Policy

The Social Law Library maintains its own email server independently of any other entity occupying the premises of the John Adams Courthouse. For the good of all Library staff and others using the Library email server, the Library shall maintain a size quota of 30 GB per email mailbox on all of its email mailbox offerings. Any Library email mailbox exceeding the 30 GB size limit will be subject to an auto-archiving of the offending email to a location not directly available through the Library email system. A patron whose email is auto-archived in accordance with the terms and conditions of this policy will be permitted to work with the Library’s Technology Services staff to retrieve the auto-archived email through a different interface or medium. Additional charges may be applicable.
