How to Place a Hold

HOW TO PLACE A HOLD/REQUEST THROUGH THE ONLINE CATALOG
Retrieve the desired record through one of the various search options.
Click on the “
Request
” button above or below the record.
Enter patron name, BINPIN (barcode), and password – these are required.
A "
Cancel if not filled by
" date may optionally be included.
Click on the "Submit above information" button to continue or the "
Start Over
" button to cancel the request.
If ineligible for this function, the system will return a screen saying "
Service available to Full Membership patrons only - see Membership Office
." The "
Start Over
" button will return to the main search page and the "
Regular Display
" button will return to the record.
If eligible, select the desired item using the radio buttons on the left. Due to the nature of the collection and the system specifications, each item must be requested individually (e.g., volumes 1 and 2 of a title must be separately requested).
Click on "
Request Selected Item
."
A confirmation page is displayed listing the title/author; location; call number; volume/copy information, if applicable; series number, if applicable (e.g., Practising Law Institute titles); and the status.
The "
Start Over
" button will return to the main search page and the "
Regular Display
" button will return to the record.
