The Forensic Science Oversight Board (FSOB) was established by the Legislature (Chapter 69, Section 9, of the Acts of 2018), to provide oversight and auditing for Massachusetts’ forensic service providers including state and local crime laboratories. It is tasked with providing enhanced, objective and independent auditing and oversight of forensic evidence used in criminal matters, and the analysis and integrity of forensic work in Massachusetts. Quality forensic work benefits the entire criminal justice system, including the work of attorneys, judges and law enforcement.

This webinar will include the following:

  • Creation and mandate of the Forensic Science Oversight Board
  • What the FSOB can do now and how it can do even more in the future
  • Reports and accomplishments of the SOB
  • Moving forward with the FSOB and its future needs
