To all Social Law Library Members:
The Social Law Library continues providing critical reference, circulation and technology services to its governmental users, members from the private bar, and a host of courtesy patrons, including legal services agencies and law-related non-profit organizations.
Work Efficiently with SLL
The Library has continued to maintain and create services to better help members who are working from home. Check out some of these new and continuing services:
- Massachusetts Register: The Library continues to provide the latest issue of the Massachusetts Register, including full text of the Emergency Regulations. Last week’s issue includes emergency regulations from the Department of Unemployment Assistance, Department of Revenue, and the Office of the Attorney General.
- Remote Resources: To see a comprehensive list of Library and Research resources, click on the Databases option from the Library’s homepage at www.socialaw.com
- Webinars: Overwhelmed by the number of resources? Join one of our Reference Attorneys in a free webinar to review the Library’s remotely accessible resources and services on April 8 at 11 am. Sign up here.
- Continuing Legal Education: You can still distance learn even while you are social distancing! Social Law will be releasing free audio of one of our award winning CLE programs each week while the social distancing orders remain in place. Visit the website for more information.
Updates on Access to the Library
To effectuate the Supreme Judicial Court’s Order of April 1st Restricting Court Appearances to Emergency Matters, the Social Law Library will be closed to all visitors, including dues paying-members and governmental users until at least May 4, 2020.
Reference Attorneys remain on site to triage essential and pressing requests by phone (617-226-1520) or email (reference@socialaw.com). They have full access to the Library’s 500,000 volume paper-based collection of legal materials, microfiche holdings, ebooks and major legal research databases typically available for use by patrons at the Library. If Library members need an item from the collection, the staff can retrieve it and, when permitted by copyright, fax or PDF it via email.
All items currently checked out will have a due date of May 11, 2020 or later. If you have a question about items you have checked out, please contact the Circulation Desk at 617-226-1500 or circulation@socialaw.com.
