Trial Court Issues Emergency Administrative Orders
BOSTON, MA – Trial Court Chief Justice Paula M. Carey has issued a series of Emergency Orders for effect on a temporary basis to address several administrative issues. All courts are closed to the public on March 16 and 17 to protect court users and court staff from the spread of the coronavirus consistent with the declared state of emergency at the state and federal levels.
These emergency orders will:
- Extend the expiration of probation warrants to Wednesday, March 18th at 11a.m.
- Modify or suspend compliance with certain conditions of probation or pretrial release in instances where the Massachusetts Probation Service is performing duties related to the conditions
- Permit indigent filers using eFileMA to have court fees and provider fees waived without the need to electronically file any affidavits required by statute
- Extend the expiration of civil commitment, treatment and observation orders pursuant to G.L. c. 123
