On September 6th the Supreme Judicial Court ruled that the state law restricting political campaign contributions from corporations is constitutional. Two businesses, 1A Auto and 126 Self Storage, claimed the law violates their constitutionally protected free speech rights.
The Court disagreed, saying that the state has a legitimate interest in deterring corruption in elections.
