Government agencies and their employee representatives will have to read this week’s Supreme Judicial Court opinion in the case Public Employment Retirement Administration Commission v. Contributory Retirement Board. In it the Court ruled that sick and vacation pay from a town to an employee out on disability was not “regular compensation” for the purposes of calculating his pension.
