On March 6, 2014, the Social Law Library and Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly sponsored “Electronic Discovery: What the Bench & Bar Must Know about the SJC’s New Rules,” which explored the new e-discovery rules passed by the Supreme Judicial Court. The program was an encore to a Flaschner Judicial Institute seminar that instructed Massachsetts judges on essential e-discovery concepts and how to apply and enforce the SJC’s new rules. The seminar’s expert faculty consisted of S. Elaine McChesney, Esq. of Bingham McCutchen LLP (Co-author,
Discovery, 49 Mass. Practice Series, and author of c. 7,
Electronic Discovery and Spoliation), Hon. Gregory Roach of the Probate and Family Court, Hon. Fredric D. Rutberg of the District Court and the chair of the SJC Standing Advisory Committee on the Rules of Civil Procedure, Jonathan Sablone, Esq. of Nixon Peabody LLP (Author,
Massachusetts e-Discovery and Evidence), and Administrative Justice Hon. Janet L. Sanders. A lively question and answer session followed the presentation. The Library would like to thank all of the attendees, the panelists and Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly for making the program an overwhelming success.
